A seven-member delegation led by Prof. Dr. Ohseok Kwon of Kyungpook National University, South Korea called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Thursady at the latter’s office of the university. During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs between Dhaka University and Kyungpook National University. They also discussed about implementation of a research project being jointly conducted by the Department of Botany of DU and Kyungpook National University with the financial assistance from National Institute of Biological Sciences (NIBR) of South Korea. It may be mentioned that a MoU between these two universities has already been signed to promote scientific researches.
The Vice-Chancellor thanked the guests for their visit to and keen interest in its academic and research activities with DU.
Earlier in the morning, the members of South Korean delegation participated at a seminar on ‘International Co-operation on Biodiversity Research’ organized by the Department of Botany of Dhaka University.
