The death of school student Sumon has created a stir in the area and cast a shadow of mourning.  Sumon's classmates have demanded punishment for the murderous father. The incident took place on TNT road in Taltoli town on Wednesday afternoon.

It has been reported that Asadul Khan and his wife Selina Begum had a domestic dispute on TNT Road in Taltoli Upazila around 11 am on Wednesday.  Son Sumon was not at home at that time. When Sumon returned home, he saw his father beating his mother Selina with a sharp weapon.

At this time the son stood in front of the mother to protect her.  At that moment, Sumon was hit on the forehead by his father and fell to the ground.  Immediately, father Asadul Khan and the locals rescued him and brought him to Taltoli Hospital.  The doctor of the hospital Faizur Rahman sent him to Barisal Shebachim Hospital in critical condition.

Seeing his son's condition, father Asadul brought Sumon to Amtali Hospital and fled away. Later, the doctor on duty of the hospital declared Sumon dead.

Mother Selina Begum said, "My husband used to beat me over trivial incidents. My son was killed while trying to save me. I demand punishment for this incident”.

Taltoli Police Station OC Mohammad Kamruzzaman Mia said, “I visited the spot after receiving the news.  Attempts are being made to arrest the killer father”.
