A court in Narayanganj gave death penalty to all six accused in a couple murder case of Rupganj police station in the district.
The judge of women and child repression prevention court Nazmul Haq Shymol pronounced the verdict in the crowded courtroom in absentia three death row awarded accused.
A capital punishment awarded accused are Ariful Islam, 30, Jamal Hossain, 20, Sumon, 31, Lokman, Shafiq and Sumon. According to the case story, on August 11, 2009 the accused gang killed Khadija and her husband Abdur Rahman at Deboi village under Rupganj police station. Later, police recovered both bodies on August 16 from a ditch.
Killed Khadiza’s father Anwar Hossain filed a murder case with police. The case investigator had submitted a charge sheet to the court accusing six accused mentioned that Khadiza’s husband hired the killers in condition of payment of ten thousand taka to kill his wife. According to the contract the killers gang killed Khadiza after gang rape. Abdur Rahman didn’t pay ten thousand taka according to the contract thus the killer also killed Abdur Rahman.
The court examined the twelve witnesses’ testimony and handed down the judgement. The public prosecutor of the concerned court Rakibuddin confirmed the information.
