Short film ‘Sauda’ screened at BSA

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) presented an exclusive screening of the short film "Sauda" (The Trade) at the National Chitrashala Bhaban on April 28. Directed by Fakir Biplob, the film, produced by Chilekotha Production, promised an evening of cinematic wonder.

"Sauda" tells an attractive tale adapted from a short story by Bappy Khan. It explores deep themes about life and humanity, with magical elements woven into its narrative. Director Fakir Biplob expressed his vision for the film, aiming to deliver a unique and thought-provoking experience for the audience.

The event was attended by esteemed personalities from the cultural sector, adding to the anticipation and glamour of the occasion. The audience was treated to an ensemble cast featuring talented actors Shahed Ali, Shanarei Devi Shanu, Fakir Biplob himself, Sagar Barua, Rowdro Kanan, and Ershad Ali. Behind the scenes, a team of skilled professionals brought the film to life. Kamruzzaman Tumon led the cinematography, capturing the essence of the story with his lens. Deen Islam Samrat served as the chief assistant director, ensuring every scene unfolded seamlessly. Editing duties were skillfully handled by Prince Sajal, while Bappy Khan's evocative soundtrack and sound design added depth to the film's atmosphere.

"Sauda" had already garnered international recognition, receiving a nomination at the Kolkata Ramdhanu International Film Festival 2024 (KRIFF-2024) and invitations from other prestigious film festivals. The special screening was made possible by the theatrical production house "Actomania," coordinated by Talha Zubayer, further elevating the film's reach and impact. Overall, the exclusive screening of "Sauda" was a resounding success, leaving the audience mesmerized by its storytelling and visual brilliance.
