Crowds of shoppers have flooded the markets in Ishwardi town of Pabna from morning till midnight. In the footsteps of busy men and women, children and old people, shoppers are busy shopping for Eid at various markets, malls and shopping centers, starting from the city's sidewalks.
In such a presence of buyers, traders and their salesmen do not seem to have time to catch their breath. However, in most of the cases, the trade is going on at one price. For that, the bargaining opportunity is less. If the buyers like the clothes, shoes, clothes, cosmetics, jewelry, etc., they should buy it only if they like it, otherwise they should go to another store. It is the picture of shops in Ishwardi town from morning till midnight.
Shops, markets and shopping centers have become glittery on the occasion of Eid Bazaar to attract buyers. The trade is going on there from morning till late at night. As Eid approaches, the number of buyers is increasing, the sellers said. However, buyers complain that the price is being taken more. The same thing is demanded at different prices.
Nargis Ara Sultana, a housewife from Rooppur, Pakshir of the upazila, came to Ishwardi to buy dress for her daughter. When asked about the price, he said that this time the sellers are charging more for the clothes. The price of a three-piece that is supposed to be 900 to 1000 Tk is said to be 1500 to 1800 Tk. Sattar Hossain of Fateh Mohammadpur said that the price of the same pants is different.
According to the traders, the crowd has been increasing in Eid Bazaar since the last 10 days of Ramadan. The shops are open from morning till midnight. This time the sales are better than last time. Crowds of shoppers were noticeable at municipal markets, second-hand clothing markets, railway supermarkets, sandal-shoe stores and cosmetics.
Meanwhile, the activities of police and detectives have been intensified to ensure uninterrupted Eid shopping and public safety. Ishwardi police sources said that besides the law enforcement agencies, white-clad police will be on patrol and surveillance at various important points. Security has been beefed up at various checkpoints. At night, members of the police patrol and intelligence agencies are working tirelessly to prevent crime.
