A shop was set on fire by unknown miscreants in Kulbaria area under Meherpur sadar upazila on early Thursday. All the goods of the shop were gutted by fire.
The shop owner Pintu Mia said he went home as usual after closing the shop at night. Later, some unknown people set the shop on fire using petrol. When the fridge in the shop exploded due to the fire, the locals came out and the saw the shop burning. Later, they called the shop owner and fire service. The fire service brought the fire under control.
Station Officer of Meherpur Fire Service Md Shamim Reza said on information, a team of fire service reached spot and brought the fire under control.
