Anaiya Tahmin Namira, a two-grader of Narayanganj Ideal School, was reciting poems as dozens of children were listening with rapt attention.  Some of them were waiting to take chance to perform and others were dancing relentlessly on the stage of Shishu Chattar in Amar Ekushey Book Fair. It was the vibe of the fair ground on Friday.

The Shishu Chattar vibrated while children performed on the stage at the Shishu Chattar. It turned into a jovial place while the Sisimpur characters performed there at 6:30 pm.

The Shishu Chattar enabled children to be introduced to a new life while hundreds of children from various schools and families came together and performed.

Here, the children played with their favourite characters, such as Ikri, Halum, Tuktuki, and Shiku, from the popular children's show- Sisimpur.

Safar Ali, who works for a private company, came to the fair from Narayanganj with his wife and children. He said, "I did not know about the special arrangement for the children in the fair. But after seeing this, it felt awesome to me. And my children performed on the stage today.”

Kamrun Nahar said, "I came to the book fair with my daughter. She enjoyed the Sisimpur characters in the last week. She forced me to come to the fair today after hearing that it would be performed again today."

Gazi Uzzal, field coordinator of the Sisimpur, said that, the Shishu Chattar has always been impressed with the performance of the children on holiday. “The Sisimpur performance made them happy. And we arranged the Sisimpur event on Friday and Saturday”, he added.

Shishu Chattar has also brought smiles on the faces of publishers and sellers of children’s books at the Shishu Chattar.

Publishers, proprietors, and salespeople at the Shishu Chattar said the sales of books increased on the holiday while children came to the fair more often to enjoy Shishu Prohor and Sisimpur.
