Shirkers won’t be spared: Kamal

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said investigation into the Sitakunda container depot fire is going on and if any negligence is found, he or she will be brought to justice.

"Investigation is going on and justice must be ensured for any sorts of negligence in Sitakunda blasts incident," he told journalists after visiting the injured ones at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) on Tuesday.

Issuing a note of caution against the culprits, he said, "We don't acquit any crime, the criminals whatsoever power he or she possesses, must be brought under trial."

He added "Those who have committed crimes are being investigated. Afterward the issue of involvement or negligence in this incident will be identified. Those who will be found responsible for the incident will be brought to justice."

The home minister categorically said none is above law of the country. 

Earlier, he visited the badly damaged BM Inland Container Depot in Kadmarsul area of Sitakunda. 

The minister also talked to the fire fighters and rescuers of Bangladesh Army and Fire Service and Civil Defence there.

Didarul Alam, MP, of Sitakunda Constituency, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Anwar Hossain, Chattogram Police Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir, district Police Super S M Rashidul Haque, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Shahadat Hossain and Assistant Commission (Land) Ashraful Alam, among others, accompanied the home minister there.
