Final round of Sheikh Russel Smriti Football Tournament was held at Piragati government primary school ground in Shailkupa of Jhenaidah on Monday afternoon. Bogura Majhail Juba Sangha eleven of Magura and Hatfazilpur sporting club fought in the final round.
Hundreds of audiences ignoring the rain and thunder enjoyed the event. Some of them climbed at the top of the tress and bamboo bushes to enjoy the game. A number of Nigerian players had added new joy among the audiences.
No team was able to score a goal in the first half of the game, while Bogura Majhahail Juba Sangha eleven had defeated Hatfazilpur sporting club by 7-6 goals.

A brief discussion was held following the game where Bangladesh Chhatra League Jhenaidah district unit president also tournament convener Abdul Awal presided over. Awami League (AL) district unit president, also lawmaker of Jhenaidah-1 seat Abdul Hyee distributed prizes as chief guest.
AL district unit organizing secretary MA Hakim, AL leader Mukter Ahmed Mridha, Nazrul Islam, Juba league joint convener Shafiqul Islam Shimul among others attended as special guests. 16 teams from Kushtia, Jhenaidah and Magura participated in the tournament, the organizers said.
