A discussion meeting was held on Sunday afternoon in the hall room of Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) on the occasion of the 74th birthday of Captain Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
CDA Secretary Mohammad Minhazur Rahman presided and CDA System Analyst Engineer Md. Mostafa Jamal moderated over the meeting. CDA Chairman M Zahirul Alam Dubash was present as the chief guest in the meeting.
CDA Chairman said, martyred freedom fighter Sheikh Kamal was a transient personality. Sheikh Kamal was resplendent in self-aggrandizement as a great organizer in sports, culture and politics. On August 15, 1975, the nation was deprived of further reflection of his virtues and deeds due to his martyrdom at the hands of assassins. Had he lived, he could have made a unique contribution to the development of the country.
CDA Chief Engineer Kazi Hasan Bin Shams, Vice President of Chittagong Jubo League Md. Helal Uddin, CDA employees Md. Zainal Abedin and Md. Javed spoke at the meeting.
CDA Supervising Engineer AAM Habibur Rahman, Deputy Secretary Amal Guha and Accounts Officer Md Nazer along with senior officers and employees were present in the said meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, on the occasion of the 74th birthday of the brave freedom fighter Sheikh Kamal, Quran Khatam, Milad Mahfil and Doa Monajat were organized to pray for the forgiveness of his soul.
