State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak and State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain laid the foundation stone of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center at Meherpur district headquarters.
The foundation stone of the incubation center was laid at a ceremony on Monday. On the occasion, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, "Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center" is a unique gift of the Prime Minister to the people of Meherpur.
The brainchild of Sajeeb Wazed, Adviser to the Prime Minister on ICT on the Prime Minister, said that the implementation of this project would not only eliminate unemployment but also create a leap forward in earning foreign exchange in information technology.
Hi-tech parks are also being set up in different parts of the country to enable young entrepreneurs to work in the IT industry on a large scale after leaving the IT Training and Incubation Center.
He added that IT business incubators and specialized labs are being set up in various universities to work with high technology including IoT, robotics, cyber security to counter the competition of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Speaking as the chief guest at the ground breaking ceremony, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said, "There is no alternative to technology education if our youth are to survive in this age of competition.
That is why the government is working to build a technology dependent nation. Now everyone has a mobile phone in their hands. We are now able to do a lot of daily work through mobile phones.
Digital devices can also contribute to our export sector. With training from the ‘Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center’, the youth here will be able to stand on their own two feet, creating employment opportunities for many people. From now on, you don't have to run after jobs, you will become entrepreneurs and give jobs to people.”
He said that the traditional business that has been conducted in the neglected Meherpur for so long has now prepared the ground for the contribution of the people of Meherpur in the IT industry by creating new entrepreneurs in the IT sector by building our students as skilled manpower in IT.
Earlier, the two state ministers along with their entourage paid homage at the Mujibnagar Memorial with flowers and observed a minute of silence.
At the end of the ceremony, State Minister Palak handed over Walton laptops to the specially gifted persons as a gift from the ICT Department to the Hon'ble Prime Minister.
