Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has warmly congratulated US President-elect Joseph R. Biden and Vice-President-elect Kamala D Harris on their resounding victory in the presidential election.
In a message of felicitation to the 46th President-elect of the U.S.A., the Prime Minister said: “I believe your resounding victory reflects the profound trust and confidence the people of your great country have in your extraordinary leadership proven over four decades of devotion and dedication towards their welfare, and that of the U.S.A.”
She expressed her firm confidence that President Joseph Biden by his sagacity and astute leadership would lead the world into a new era of global peace, and international cooperation in securing prosperity and unity in facing the challenges of climate change.
The Prime Minister said Bangladesh, over the years since its independence in 1971, has forged an excellent and durable relationship with the U.S.A. “Now with you in the helm of affairs of your country, I foresee the relationship reaching higher heights in the coming days,” she said.
Prime Minister Hasina wished to work closely with President Biden to effectively confronting the evils of terrorism, violent extremism, hatred, forced displacements of the Rohingyas, and for the realization of a safer and better world.
She extended a very warm invitation to President-elect Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden to visit and experience Bangladesh’s overall progress achieved by its own efforts, the strength of its people, and the support of its good friends as the U.S.A.
The Prime Minister wished President-elect Joseph Biden and his wonderful family good health, long life and happiness, and the friendly people of the United States continued peace, progress and prosperity.
In a separate message of felicitations to Vice-President-elect Kamala D Harris, the Prime Minister said “It is a special moment of pride for the people of the United States at having elected a lady Vice President for the first time. Surely your emphatic victory testifies your laudable leadership, remarkable achievements in public service, and valuable contributions to your great country and people.”
Sheikh Hasina hoped her tenure as the Vice-President would witness the continuance of her relentless efforts and successes in establishing equal rights and justice for all people, as well as gender parity inspiring women in the U.S.A. and across the world with hope, vigor and drive in fulfilling ambitions of their very own.
The Prime Minister said Bangladesh and the U.S.A. since the establishment of diplomatic relations have evolved an enduring, productive partnership growing and deepening with time.
“Now with you as Vice President, proudly representing diversity and endowed with experience and wisdom, I see our two countries’ relationship reaching enviable heights.”
She also extended a warm invitation to Kamala Harris and to Douglass Emhoff, to visit Bangladesh soonest to see firsthand the impressive socio-economic development and the extraordinary level of women empowerment.
