Sylhet Strikers' dashing opener Najmul Hossain Shanto earned one demerit point for violating the Bangladesh Cricket Board's code of conduct during a match against Chattogram Challengers on Saturday.
The incident took place when Shanto was trapped by Nihaduzzaman and got stumped by wicket-keeper Irfan Sukkur. As he returned to the dugout he threw away his helmet and bat out of frustration.
Despite this, Shanto top-scored by playing an anchoring innings of 60 from 44 balls including 6 fours and 2 sixes which propelled Sylhet to register a seven-wicket win.
Shanto wasn't fined for unruly behavior but was awarded with one demerit point by match official Debbrata Paul for breaching BCB's code of conduct 2.2.
After 9 matches, Sylhet has 14 points from 7 wins and will play two more matches in the league phase of the tournament.
