Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem has laid stress on ensuing good governance side by side with continuing development endeavours, reports BSS. He said this while speaking as the chief guest a function organized on the occasion of Police Memorial Day-2020 at police lines here organized by district police here.
Shameem urged police personnel to continue drives against militants, terrorists, extortionists, drug dealers and criminals to keep up peace and discipline in the society.
Chaired by Superintendent of Police (SP) S M Ashrafuzzaman, the function was addressed, among others, by Awami League Central Executive Committee Member Iqbal Hossain Apu, Zilla Parishad Chairman and Zilla Awami League President Sabedur Rahman Khuka Shikder, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kazi Abu Taher, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Abul Hashem Tapader, Naria Upazila Parishad Chairman AKM Ismail Hoque, Shariatpur Press Club President Company Commander of Madaripur RAB-8 Md Tajul Islam.
Later, the state minister handed over Taka 30 thousand each to families of 12 police personnel, who had sacrificed their lives while discharging duties.
