B-Love Kandy sealed the final berth defeating Galle Titans by 34 runs in the qualifier 2 of Lanka Premier League (LPL) at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
Wanindu Hasaranga's all round brilliance restricted Galle to 123-8 in the allotted 20 overs while defending 158 runs. Hasaranga was the pick of the bowling attack after smashing 48 runs. Hasaranga, Mohammad Hasnain and Chaturaga de Silva scalped two wickets each.
Sonal Dinusha scored a gritty 28 runs and Litton Das scored a cautious 25 off 19 aided by four boundaries while Shakib yet again had a poor outing as he was dismissed on 17 runs.
Earlier, Kandy made a shaky start as they lost both the opners and were slumped to 20-3 in the first powerplay. Dinesh Chandimal and Hasaranga added 72 runs for the fourth wicket partnership.
Chandimal played a decent knock of 38 off 37 and Hasaranga's 48 steadied the innings before Dinusha removing Chandimal.
Kandy kept losing their wickets at regualr pattern and eventually posted 157-7 in 20 overs.
Lahiru Kumara, Dinusha each picked up a couple of wickets and Shakib got one.
