The construction work of a Shahid Minar (martyr’s memorial) in front of the house of Language movement veteran Dr. Golam Maola was inaugurated at Mokarerchar Union Parishad compound of Naria upazila under Shariatpur district on Tuesday morning.
Under the directive of Shariatpur-2 MP and State Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and under the Supervision of Moktarerchar UP Chairman Shah Alam Chowkider, the Foundation stone of the Shahid Minar was laid by Dr. Golam Faruk, son of the language veteran, Ekushey trophy winner Dr. Golam Maula.
The foundation laying function was attended by Chairman of Moktarchar Union Shah Alam Chowkider, President of Language Veteran Dr Goalm Maula Library Abdur Rahman, Assistant Engineer of Relief and Disaster Department of Naria upazila Sohel Ovee, President and the General Secretary of Moktarer Char Union AL Hasan Master and Sher Ali Matbar respectively, AL leader Mohsin Dhali, AL leader of Italy Faruk Khalasi and others.
