The holy Shab-E-Qadr, the Night of Decree, was observed in all the districts of the country on Saturday night with due religious fervour and solemnity.
Mentionable, the first verses of the holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on the night.
At mosques and homes across the country, thousands of Muslim devotees offered ‘nafal’ prayers and recited from the holy Quran in observance of the most meaningful night of forgiveness.
According to the holy Quran, Lailatul Qadr is superior to thousand nights as the angels and the spirit descend therein, by the permission of Almighty Allah with all decrees.
This is one of the holiest and most blessed nights which is likely to occur on one of the odd nights in the last 10 days of Ramadan and most likely to be the 27th of the holy month.
According to reports sent by our different district correspondents the holy night was observed with due respect at different districts including Rajshahi, Khulna and Rangpur.
In Rajshahi, hundreds of devotees sought blessings of Almighty Allah for long life, peace, progress, good health and happiness for them, their families, relatives and friends and offered special prayers with hopes of forgiveness from Almighty Allah.
Many mosques especially Hazrat Shah Mukhdum Dargah Mosque, Saheb Bazar Boro Mosque, New Market Jame Mosque and Hatemkha Mosque and different other religious organisations arranged milad mahfils, ‘zikr-ajkars’ and distributed tobaraks in urban and suburban areas in the city.
Special discussions were held at the mosques since Asr prayer, where the Imams delivered speeches narrating spiritual significance one of the most sacred night.
A large number of the Muslims stayed for the whole night at the mosques and offered special prayers. Besides, Muslims offered ‘ziarats’ at the graveyards and prayed for the departed soul and sought forgiveness and eternal peace for all.
Special prayers were also offered seeking divine blessings for the overall welfare, successes and good luck of the humanity, country and its people and the Muslim Ummah.
In Khulna, the holy Shab-e-Qadr was observed on Saturday night in the divisional city and across the district with due religious fervor and solemnity.
Muslim devotees passed the night in city’s different mosques, offering special prayers, reciting from the Holy Quran, holding doa mahfil, zikir and other religious activities, seeking blessing of the Almighty Allah for peace and progress for themselves, their families, relatives, friends as well as the nation and the Muslim Ummah.
Religious discussions were held at mosques throughout the night and food, sweets and money were distributed among the poor and destitute.
A huge number of devotees also visited the nearest graveyards in the city and district and prayed for peace of the departed souls of their near and dear ones.
In Kishoreganj, the Muslim devotees would spend the night at mosques and homes offering prayers reciting from the holy Quran and seeking blessings to Allah for long life, peace, progress and happiness for themselves their families, relatives and friends as well as the nation and the Muslim Ummah.
According to Muslim belief, Shab-e-Kadar is the might when Allah arranges the affairs of the following year on Shab-e-Kadar. Allah writes the destinies of all the creations for the coming year by taking into account their post deeds.
The Islamic Foundation and other religious organizations have chalked out day long programmes including discussion meetings, hamd, naat, milad, zikir and doa on the accession of the holy Shab-e-Kadar.
In Rangpur, the Muslim devotees observed the holy night of Shab-e-Qadr in Rangpur and across the district with due religious rituals, gaiety and solemnity on Saturday night.
The Muslims believe the most important night of Shab-e-Qadr bears huge importance when Almighty Allah sent the Holy Qur’an as a full code of conduct for the humankind on earth on this night.
Olamaye-Kerams and Islamic scholars delivered lectures in special discussions arranged at the mosques narrating spiritual significance of the most sacred night and meaningful night of forgiveness, fortune, hopes and aspirations.
The Musollis offered munajats seeking divine blessings for forgiveness of sins and long life, peace, progress, sound health and happiness for them, their families, relatives and eternal peace for souls of their departed parents and generations.
Most of the mosques were specially illuminated, milad mahfils, `zikrs’ were organised and `tobaraks’ distributed both in the city, urban and rural areas and important places in all eight upazilas of the district.
Musollis stayed for whole night at mosques, offered `nafl’ prayers and recited from the holy Qur’an and `ziarats’ at graveyards of their forefathers and departed relatives, friends and nearer and dearer ones, sought forgiveness and eternal peace for all till Fazr prayers.
The Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque, Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque, Khasbag Jam-e- Mosque, Satmatha Jam-e-Mosque, Jamtola Jam- e- Mosque, Dhap Jam-e-Mosque, Central Bus Terminal Jam-e-Mosque, Katchari Bazaar Jam-e-Mosque, Kamal Kachna Jam-e-Mosque and many other Mosques remained crowded with Muslim devotees who stayed there for the whole night and offered ‘nafl’ prayers.
Imams and Khatibs conducted special munajats seeking divine blessings and kindness for continuous peace, prosperity, success, development and well- being of the country and its people, humanity and the Muslim Ummah.
