People and animals of the district have become disorientated due to continuous intense sun and heat wave in Chatmohar of Pabna for the past few days. The temperature has risen to around 40 degrees. As a result, the public life in this area has become miserable. Animals and other animals including birds have adverse effects of excess temperature.
Farmers, laborers, rickshaw-van drivers, beggars, aid seekers, poor working people are the most affected by the increase in temperature. They are not able to work continuously for a long time in the intensity of the sun. If they don't work, they are forced to work under the sun because their earnings stop.
Al Amin, the sales representative of Manmohan Bidi said on Saturday afternoon, I went to Amritkunda area of Moolgram union from Chatmohar town center in the sun by bicycle. Returning from there, I am going to the different markets of Bilchalan and Nimaichra Union in the opposite direction. On an average, about 25 to 30 km of cycling has to be done every day. I am suffering from the sun and heat.
Seventy-year-old Halima Khatun, the wife of deceased Abu Molla, came to Chatmohar town center to beg from Nurnagar village of neighboring Bhangura upazila. She said, at this old age, she has to work to cut the soil. She is begging now because it is not possible to cut the soil in intense heat. In the intensity of the sun, it becomes difficult to look, it feels tired. The intense heat and hunger made it difficult to beg.
Abdul Alim of Doharjani village in Santhia, Pabna is a cloth seller by profession. He came to Chatmohar to sell clothes. He said that the sun and heat are too much. Even after that, it is necessary to go out. Poor people have to go out this summer in need of money.
Munzil Hossain, a farmer of Ramnagar village of the upazila, said that the leaves of Boro rice, corn and cattle grass are dying in the sun. Working in the sun is becoming very difficult. By noon it is becoming very difficult to stay in the field. Agriculture has also become difficult due to the sun.
Monirul Islam, a day laborer from Ramnagar village, said that our condition is very bad due to sun and heat. Crops are also burning. As the temperature is high, it is becoming very difficult to stay in the field. Having to work under intense heat with stomach urges.
Ariful Islam, a van driver in Parswdanga area of the upazila, said that he had to drive the car all day. The head gets hot in the sun. The body sweats. Do not stay in the sun for long periods of time. We are having a hard time with the intense sun and temperature.
The District Meteorological Department said that the intensity of the heat wave will not abate immediately, but the temperature will come down in a few days.
