SEVENTEEN has some major updates that have Carats buzzing with excitement and a bit of sadness. Jeonghan, known for his soothing voice and playful personality, is set to enlist in the military later this year.

He has already filmed as much content as possible in advance, so fans can still see him in upcoming releases, but he will be absent from promotions for their 12th mini-album and the "RIGHT HERE" World Tour starting in October. This marks a temporary departure for the beloved member, who will be missed during his service.

On the other hand, Jun is taking a different path by focusing on his acting career in China. He will also miss out on some of the group's major activities, including the world tour and performances related to their latest album. However, he has assured fans that he will stay involved with SEVENTEEN's activities whenever possible, continuing to show his dedication to the group despite his individual projects.

The leader of SEVENTEEN, S. Coups, will not be required to serve due to a severe knee injury. He sustained a rupture in his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in 2023, leading to major surgeries and ongoing rehabilitation.

This has classified him as Grade 5, which means he is exempt from military service during peacetime, though he may be required to perform non-combat duties during wartime.

Joshua who has only American citizenship is not required to enlist because he holds American citizenship.

Vernon was born in the United States, but he also has South Korean citizenship which requires him to enlist. Vernon must enlist in the military by February 18, 2028, when he turns 30 years old. As Chinese nationals, The8 and Jun are not subject to South Korea's mandatory military service. Wonwoo, DK, Hoshi, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Woozi, Dino: These members, being South Korean nationals, will likely enlist as required by law, but specific dates have not been confirmed yet. Their enlistments will be staggered to minimize disruption to the group's activities, though the timing remains a significant concern for fans.

Looking ahead, SEVENTEEN has exciting plans for the future. The group has confirmed that they will reunite as 13 members in 2030, much to the delight of fans. This long-term plan promises a bright future for the group, maintaining the unity and strength that has always defined SEVENTEEN.
