Southeast University (SEU) Debate Club participated in the 1st SUBDS National Debate Championship 2019 on Saturday organized by State University of Bangladesh (SUB) Debating Society, where 30 teams including different Public and private universities participated from all over the country.
In this tournament, Southeast Debate Club qualified for the quarter-final round, by wining 04 Preliminary Round out of 04. In the four rounds debate, SEU won against Gono Bisswabiddalaya of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Jahangirnagar University (JU) and Ahsanullah University Debate team respectively. SEU student and President of the Southeast Debate Club Ashraful Alam Munna won the title 'Debater of the tournament' for being the best speaker in every round (four rounds). Vice-Chancellor of SUB was present in the competition.
