SEU holds freshers’ reception for summer students

Southeast University (SEU) recently welcomed its new students for the Summer Semester of 2024. The Freshers' Reception and Orientation Programme took place in the university's multipurpose hall. The event had five separate sessions for different departments.

The first session was for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) students. Iftekher Alam Ishaque, Chief Operating Officer of SSL Wireless, was the guest of honour.

The second session included students from Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Architecture, and Textile departments. Engineer Md Shamsuzzaman, Managing Director of Micro Fiber Group, was the chief guest.

The next session was for students from the Bangla, English, and Economics departments. Selina Hossain, President of Bangla Academy, attended as the chief guest.

Another session was for students from the Southeast Business School. Mohammad Fazlul Kader, Additional Managing Director of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), was the guest of honour.

The final session was for weekend students from the EEE, CSE, and Textile departments. Sumon Ahmed Sabir, Chief Technology Officer at Fiber@home Limited, was the chief guest.

Throughout all the sessions, SEU Vice-Chancellor Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam led the events. Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor M Mofazzal Hossain, SEU Registrar Air Vice Marshal M Abul Bashar (Retd), and department heads also welcomed the new students.

The guests gave advice to the students, encouraging them to be punctual and focused. They stressed the importance of self-development and being ready for future challenges while studying at SEU’s Tejgaon campus.
