“It will be a real homage to Bangabandhu if we can serve the people honestly which is our main responsibility as government employees. We will be able to actualize the 'Golden Bengal' dreamed by the father of the nation. We have to take our responsibility as prayer”.
This was stated by Land Secretary Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary while addressing a condolence meeting and prayer ceremony organized on the occasion of National Mourning Day and 45th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through Zoom Video Conferencing Platform on Saturday morning.
It is to be noted that recently several public servants of the Ministry of Land (including its subordinate departments/agencies) were infected with Coronavirus, so as a precautionary measure it was decided to hold a virtual observance of the National Mourning Day.
The land secretary further said that Bangabandhu's objective was to establish self-determination and political rights of the people of this country and to ensure social, cultural, and economic emancipation, above all to establish a 'Golden Bengal' through the reconstruction of Bangladesh. He dedicated his life to the welfare of the people of the country.
Muksodur Rahman said, the first land reformer of independent Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman took many landmark steps in land management by emphasizing on establishing pro-people land management as part of the reconstruction of war-torn Bangladesh immediately after independence.
The Land Secretary said that the Ministry of Land is working to transform most of the land services into digital services to set up Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Digital Bangladesh. She has recently approved two projects on land management automation and digital land survey. The expected service recipients will get the service through mobile or internet at home without going to the concerned land office as well as transparency and accountability in the land sector will be increased after the implementation of the two projects.
Already, the Ministry of Lands has received the prestigious United Nations Public Service Award-2020 award in recognition of the implementation of e-mutations across the country. It is a recognition of the qualitative change in the land ministry under the leadership of Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury. We are resolved to expedite the implementation of the priority development activities directed by the Hon'ble Land Minister on the occasion of Mujib Year.
Director-General of Land Records and Survey Department Md. Taslimul Islam, Additional Secretaries of the Ministry of Land Md Masud Karim, Pradip Kumar Das also spoke among others on the occasion. Among others, various officials and employees working at the Ministry of Land and the headquarters and field levels of its subordinate offices/agencies were also attended the virtual condolence meeting and prayer ceremony.
