Police on Saturday recovered the body of a septuagenarian woman from Dhanshalik union under Kabirhat Upazila of Noakhali.
The deceased was identified as Firoza Begum, 75, wife of Abu Bakkar.
Local sources said Firoza’s husband died many years ago. She was living with her son and daughter-in-law.
Her son went abroad. Moreover, her daughter-in-law went to her father’s house. So, Firoza was living alone at her house for last few days.
On Saturday morning, Firoza’s relatives started searching as she was not responding from her room.
Later, she was found dead at the aisle of a pond near to her house. They informed the police after seeing her body.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kabirhat Police Station Humayan Kabir said on information, police personnel rushed to the spot and recovered Firoza’s body.
There was a mark of bleeding at her nose. Primarily, it was assumed that she might have been killed by suffocating. The body was sent to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police have been trying unveil the mystery of the incident.
