A septuagenarian woman was killed in a road accident in Foiljana Christian Palli area under Chatmohar Upazila of Pabna on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Rita Gomes, 70, wife of Ignasius Gomes, resident of the area.
Local UP member and locals said a soil-laden trolley hit Rita Gomes when she was standing by the side of a road in the area at around 5:00pm, leaving her dead on the spot.
On information, members of Sharatganj Police Outpost and Chatmohar Police Station visited the spot.
Officer-in-Charge of Chatmohar Police Station Selim Reza said no complaint was filed in this connection yet. The legal procedure will be taken upon complaint. The driver of the trolley fled the scene after the incident. However, police seized the trolley.
