Septuagenarian killed by miscreants in Noakhali

A septuagenarian was slaughtered by miscreants in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali on Sunday. The miscreants slit his throat and killed him.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Khalek alias Khaja Mia, 75, son of late Abdur Razzak, resident of Char Rashid village under Char Jabbar union in the upazila. 

The police recovered the body from in front of his house around 10 am on Sunday. He is the father of 5 children.

The police and the relatives of the deceased could not give any reason for the murder.

Locals said he used to work in a tea stall in local bazar in the past. He lives with his wife Komla Begum in his own house. On Saturday night around 9 pm, he left for home from the local bazaar called Kanchan bazaar. However, he did not reach home. On Sunday morning when his wife did not him after the Fajr prayer, she started searching for home. At one point, he found his body with slit throat. The relatives of the deceased said that he was a very simple person. He did not have any dispute with anyone. Yet, someone has brutally killed him.

Officer-in-Charge of Charjabbar Police Station Md. Kawsar Alam Bhuiyan said they still don’t know anything about Abdul Khalel’s murder. However, they have started working on the case. The body was sent to 250 Bed Noakhali General Hospital for post-mortem.
