Seminar on “Mitigating Sexual Harassment by Awareness and Shared Narratives” organised by the Proctorial Committee of the university was held at the auditorium of Uttara Campus of Daffodil International University (DIU) on Wednesday to address the students’ of this campus to lessen such unwanted situations in the campus premises and outside.
Professor Dr Farhana Helal Mehtab, associate dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Science delivered the keynote speech in the seminar. In her instructional speech, Dr Farhana urged the students to develop themselves as a respected and a person with strong personalities and to raise their voices against any sorts of eve teasing.
The seminar was presided over by Anil Chandra Paul, director and proctor of Uttara campus. The seminar was also addressed by Liza Sharmin, associate professor and associate head, Department of English, Permanent Campus, Naznin Sultana, assistant professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Shampa Iftakhar, assistant professor, Department of English, Shakil Ahmed, senior lecturer, Department of Business Administration.
The speakers urged the students to be aware and to protect minimum assault by sharing among classmates and friends and assured that proctorial committee, being committed to all the students, would work together for a harmonious and harass-free campus.
