The second Coronavirus ( COVID-19) infected patient has been detected at Jatragachi village under Maria union of Bagmara upazila on Monday night. The age of the patient is nearly 40-year and he works as a garment worker in Narayanganj.
Confirming the detection of the second Corona patient in Bagmara of Rajshahi, Civil Surgeon of Rajshahi Dr. Enamul Haque said the infected person fled from his workplace in Narayanganj on April-6. He had been put under Home Quarantine after his arrival in Bagmara.
On April-11, samples from his body were collected and tested at the Corona Testing Laboratory of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. The test report found positive on Monday. The infected person is still staying at his home. Dr. Enamul Haque further informed, the Corona infected person shows no outward symptom of virus infection and he is sound in health. Samples from his body were tested because he arrived from a Corona infected region.
However, he has been asked to stay in isolation at his home. The health department officials and local administration has already started to gather information about those persons and establishments whom the patient had a contact.
Officer in charge of Bagmara police station Ataur Rahman informed, at 8-00 pm on Monday he came to learn about the detection of a Corona infected person at Jatragachi village under Maria union under the thana. He would visit the area soon and put the suspected houses of the villlage under lockdown.
Earlier on Sunday, another person infected with Coronavirus was detected at Puthia upazila. he was the first ever person in Rajshahi division to carry the virus. He contacted Corona while working as a Tailor in Dhaka.
