Society Development Committee (SDC), a local non-governmental organization, provided humanitarian food assistance to 57 families of two sweeper colonies in Faridpur Municipality on Wednesday.
Faridpur Municipal Councilor Chowdhury Anisur Rahman Sabul distributed the food items among the sweeper members at the CRTC Center in Adampur area of the town under the supervision of Faridpur Municipality and with collaboration of Practical Action Bangladesh.
Among others, Kazi Ashraful Hasan, Executive Director of SDC, Khandaker Ahsan Rakib, District Coordinator of Practical Action Bangladesh, Faridpur, Md. Didarur Alam, Coordinator of SDC’s Prosperity Project, Ziaur Rahman Sentu, Social Mobilizer of SUP were present at the time.
The members of distressed families received 5 kg of rice, 2 kg of potatoes, 1 kg of pulses, 1 kg of salt and 500 gram of oil as food items at the distribution.
Kazi Ashraful Hasan, executive director of SDC, said that people of different walks of life are living inhumane lives due to the corona virus spread. SDC has stood by these people, thinking about them.
