Educational institutions in Bangladesh will reopen soon, according to Syeda Rizwana Hasan, the adviser for the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. She announced this after the first meeting of the new government's advisers.
The meeting took place on Friday at the Jamuna State Guest House. It was attended by chiefs of the three armed forces, the inspector general of police, and various ministry secretaries.
Rizwana Hasan informed journalists that their aim is to open schools as soon as possible. However, she mentioned that due to the current situation, where there are no traffic police and students are managing traffic, it is challenging to reopen schools immediately. She said they will talk with teachers and work towards bringing back a safe educational environment while keeping in mind the law and order situation. Additionally, Rizwana Hasan shared that students will also be involved in the management of ministries under the new advisers. She did not provide specific details but mentioned that the plan and structure for this involvement will be decided later. The meeting was also attended by Nahid Islam, Adviser to the Ministry of Post, Telecommunication, and Information Technology, and Asif Mahmud, Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Both are coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement.
