A schoolgirl named Lamia (15) was shot in Khulna city. The incident took place in Mistripara area of the city around 11:30 am on Friday. Lamia was rescued and admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
She is a sixth-class student of Iqbalnagar Government Girls School and daughter of Md. Jamal of Mistripara area. According to local sources, Yusuf Ali Sardar, a resident of Mistripara, has got a renovation work on Babu Khan Road under Sadar Police Station. He is being pressured by some miscreants to do this.
When they went in front of Yusuf Ali's house on Friday, he fired two shots. One of the bullets missed the target and hit the leg of the house next door. She was later rescued and admitted to hospital.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Ashraful Alam said no one has been arrested in the incident yet. Police are investigating the whole matter.
