Education Department and Committee of Concern Citizens (CCC) in Jhenaidah on a zoom meeting on Thursday have decided to ensure books for all the students of various educational institutions on the first day of the New Year as part of anti-corruption movement of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).
The decision was taken considering the global havoc coronavirus impacts on challenges of implementing education, stipend, expectation and duties in the afternoon of the day.
District Primary Education officer (DPEO) Jahangir Alam, CCC president Sayedul Alam, assistant DPEO Lakkhan Kumar Das, acting upazila primary education officer Sudhangshu Shekhar Biswas and TIB area manager in Jhenaidah Bakhtiar Hossain among others participated in the zoom meeting.
Annual evaluation of the learners, books distribution and state of the natural disaster Amphan affected educational institutions came in the frontline of the discussion.
The zoom meeting had decided to ensure new books for every students at their respective homes, while admission and other relevant activities will be taken later on.
Education through Sangshad TV, radio, mobile class systems and other emergency activities will be continued during the corona virus hours.
The meeting informed that the educational institutions in the district were repaired when they were damaged by natural disaster Amphan earlier.
The meeting expressed satisfaction when the distribution of stipend money for the year 2020 was completed i0n the meantime. They had decided to send the stipend for the students through postal department introduced Nagad payment system the as against bkash payment.
The meeting also discussed to hold a webinar with concern citizens, educationists and education department officials considering the corona pandemic.
