The Supreme Court is going into a 21-day long vacation today (Sunday), leaving a Chamber Judge Court and eight vacation benches to deal with the emergency matters at the Appellate Division and High Court Division respectively.
The SC will come into regular action on June 16.
“Justice Zinat Ara has been nominated as Vacation Judge by the chief justice to conduct trial proceedings at the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. Justice Zinat Ara will deal with the cases at the Appellate Division Chamber Court from 11am on May 29 and June 12,” a notice signed by Appellate Division Registrar Md Badrul Alam Bhuiyan said.
Meanwhile a High Court Division notice signed by Deputy Registrar (Administration and Judicial) Mohammad Aktaruzzaman Bhuiyan said the chief justice has formed total eight vacation benches at the High Court Division to deal with the emergency matters during the vacation.
