Shaheed Abu Sayed, a student from Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur, has passed the 18th Teacher Registration Written Examination conducted by the Private Teacher Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA). Sadly, he was shot dead by the police during the anti-discrimination student movement earlier this year.

The results were announced on October 14, revealing that a total of 83,865 candidates passed the exam. Abu Saeed, whose roll number was 201256297, was an applicant for the position of general teacher. His father's name is Md. Maqbul Hossain, and his mother's name is Monowara Begum. However, details about the marks he received in the exam have not been disclosed.

Born in 2001 in Babanpur village, Abu Sayed was the youngest of nine siblings. He excelled in his studies, graduating from Jafarpara Government Primary School with a talent pool scholarship. He achieved a Golden GPA-5 in his SSC exams at Khalasipur Dimukhi High School and completed his HSC with GPA-5 from Rangpur Government College in 2018. In 2020, he enrolled in the English Department of Begum Rokeya University, becoming part of the 12th batch.

Abu Saeed was actively involved in the quota reform movement of 2024, serving as the coordinator for his university. He played a vital role in organizing protests in Rangpur. In a heartfelt Facebook post before his death, he honored the memory of Mohammed Shamsuzzoha, a teacher killed during the 1969 uprising, calling for solidarity among students and urging others to support their rightful demands. He led protests against discrimination on July 16, but tragically, he was shot by police during these demonstrations. Abu Saeed's legacy continues to inspire many in the fight for justice.
