The Local Government Division suspended Saidur Rahman Shujon, chairman of Birulia union parishad in Savar, a neighborhood of capital Dhaka, following a lawsuit filed against him with local police station last month.
A notice was issued on October 14 in this regard.
A ‘show-cause’ notice was also served to Shujon asking him to explain why he would not be suspended permanently in ten working days after from the day of receiving it.
Savar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shamim Ara Nipa confirmed the matter to the Bangladesh Post on Saturday.
Earlier, Ashraful Islam from Kakabo of Birulia union file a case against seven people including Chairman Shujon with Savar police on allegation of extortion.
