South Asian Travel Award 2023 - Celebration of Excellence was held recently at the Intercontinental Dhaka.
Organized by Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA), the event concluded with awarding recognition of outstanding achievements in the hotel industry in South Asia.
Md. Mokammel Hossain, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism attended the awards ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The annual SATA event plays a crucial role in promoting the South Asian travel and tourism industry. The awards ceremony highlights the accomplishments of hotels, airlines, and destinations, fostering an environment of excellence and innovation.
Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA), as the local agent for SATA in Bangladesh, played a pivotal role in supporting and facilitating the awards in the country. BIHA, representing more than 51 international hotels, is a leading organization in the hospitality industry.
Out of 29 hotels nominated, 13 hotels from Bangladesh received prestigious SATA awards in various categories. The winners are Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, Sayeman Beach Resort , HANSA - A Premium Residence, Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, InterContinental Dhaka ,Golden Tulip The Grandmark, The Westin Dhaka, Ocean Paradise Hotel & Resort, Hotel Agrabad, The Palace Luxury Resort , Platinum Grand, Momo Inn Park & Resort and Grand Sylhet Hotel & Resort.
Special recognition was given to Ashwani Nayar, General Manager of InterContinental Dhaka, awarded "South Asia’s Best GM. And HM Hakim Ali awarded as "Tourism Faces of South Asia."
