The sand business is being run by occupying the right-left paved road in front of the main gate of Bhadreshwar Government Primary School in Tentulia Upazila of Panchagarh. As the environment is getting polluted by this, school-college students and common passers-by are suffering a lot. Road accidents can happen at any time. UP Chairman Muslim Uddin is not taking any action after learning about the incident.
It has been found out on the ground that, north of the Bhajanpur bus stand on the Panchagarh-Tentulia National Highway of the upazila, almost half of the road is occupied by a pile of sand. It is known that Atiyar Rahman, son of Jamal of Bhadreshwar area, some traders including Jalil are illegally doing business by keeping sand on the side of the road. So the pedestrians have to suffer constantly with difficulty in movement. There is no surveillance even though the union chairman is walking on that paved road.
When talking to the pedestrians, they said that due to the placing of sand on this inner paved road, motorcycles, vans and charger driven auto cars have to move with great difficulty and risk. In particular, there is an intersection a hundred feet to the north of the school and there is a dirt road in front of it.
A motorcyclist, who did not wish to be named, said sand comes into the eyes while riding a motorcycle. If we want to give side to another car then we have to drive motorcycle on sand. Sand business using such roads adjacent to schools is really sad. Requesting the attention of the administration to stop it.
A 10th class student of Gitalgach Bi-Mukhi High School of Bhajanpur Union of Upazila said that many people have been running sand business in their Bhadreshwar junction for a long time.
Vehicular traffic problems occur when sand is loaded by placing trucks on paved roads near sand piles. Besides, he did not notice if Bali was on the road.
Union Parishad Chairman Muslim Uddin said that there is nothing to worry about. How will they eat if the do not do that? When asked for details in this regard, he did not give any reply.
Mizanur Rahman Mia, the head teacher of Bhadreshwar Government Primary School said on the phone, thinking about his young students, he has arranged two bits on the paved road on the right and left in front of the main gate of the school.
In this, the sand traders do not directly in front of the school, but a little north and south (right and left).
In this regard, Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and learned Executive Magistrate Sohag Chandra Saha said, I have come to know the matter, action will be taken.
