Jhenaidah district unit of Samajtantrik Mahila Forum observed 36th founding anniversary of the forum in Jhenaidah on Tuesday like other parts of the country.
Marking the day, the forum brought out a colourful procession in the district town that paraded main roads and ended at Jhenaidah Press Club. They organized a discussion meeting there with district unit organizer Rubina Khatun in the chair. Forum’s Kushtia district unit convener Comrade Shafiqur Rahman attended the discussion as the chief guest.
Jhenidah district unit coordinator Advocate Asadul Islam, central committee general secretary engineer Shampa Bosu and district unit president Sharmin Sultana spoke on the occasion, among others.
The speakers said that the rights of the women after 50 years of independence could not be established in Bangladesh which has been leading many inhuman activities on the women and children like the brutal ancient times when we have been claiming ourselves as civilized. They urged upon the concern citizens to press home the demands of the women and children and be united against all odds.
