Dhallywood, the Bangladeshi film industry, has been facing many problems since the anti-discrimination student movement. This has led to a slowdown in both the release and production of films. Although the interim government is making efforts to start new movie projects, many are still behind schedule.
Two major films starring Shakib Khan are among those affected by these delays. The first film, titled "Borbaad," was set to begin filming at the end of September. However, the production company has announced that the filming has been postponed. The film, directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, will also feature Indian actress Idhika Paul alongside Shakib Khan.
The second film, "Sher," was planned to start shooting in December. Unfortunately, this film has also been delayed. The production company has confirmed that the project will now begin next year. "Sher" is a joint venture between Bangladesh and India.
Shakib Khan is currently in
the United States. He is expected to return to Bangladesh by the end of this month. Upon his return, he will be involved in the cricket scene as well. His cosmetics and home care company, Remark-Harlen, where he holds a director's position, has recently acquired a team in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
The delays in these films are a setback for Dhallywood, but fans of Shakib Khan can look forward to his return and his new cricket venture in the BPL.
