Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said that Saidabad Bus Terminal is being modernized to speed up the bus route rationalisation process and bring order to public transport.

We have started the modernization of our Saidabad inter-district and city bus terminal. We have taken up this project at a cost of over Tk.30 crores."
Hoping to complete the ongoing work by next March, Dasik Mayor Barrister Sheikh Taposh said, "Saidabad Bus Terminal has not been renovated since it was constructed a long time ago.
The infrastructure including waterlogging was in a very bad and fragile condition. Under the bus route rationalization program, Dhaka city's public transport will be That is why we have taken up this task. As you can see, the work is progressing rapidly. We are hopeful that the work will be completed by next March.” That's how we undertook this whole reform process." At that time, describing the initiative of South City to construct 2 inter-district bus terminals under bus route rationalization, DSCC Mayor said, "We have decided to construct 2 inter-district bus terminals. One is in Kanchpur, the other is near Keraniganj.
One of the land has been acquired, we have asked for transfer. Another land acquisition process has been taken up. It will take another 3-4 years to construct these. In the meantime, we have taken up the renovation of the bus terminal so that the buses can run smoothly."
In response to a question from reporters, Dasik Mayor Barrister Sheikh Tapas said, "Some roads have become narrow near the terminal. So we have taken up the work of renovating and widening the lower road. There are access roads to Udal Bridge through the terminal, but they are not functional. That's why We plan to implement it afresh."
In response to another question, DSCC Mayor said, "Posters, written in different colors, cover our infrastructures. People's awareness is the key here. We hope they will refrain from these. We have laws in this regard, but we do not enforce them. People's responsibility for building infrastructures. If the expectations are fulfilled, we will do whatever is necessary for its excellence. It is our responsibility to keep the infrastructure beautiful and clean."
