South Korea has expressed interest in cooperating with Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) in Internet of Things (IoT) based traffic management activities.
Barrister Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) met with South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Jang-Keun in a courtesy call at Nagar Bhaban on Wednesday afternoon. During the meeting, the DSCC spoke about the new initiative to streamline traffic management activities in South City and expressed interest in cooperating with the Korean Ambassador.
"South Korea has implemented IoT-based traffic management. Dhaka is at the top of the list of most densely populated cities. Therefore, South Korea is interested in extending cooperation in modern technology-based traffic management activities," said Lee Jang-Keun. In response, Fazle Nur Taposh thanked the Korean Ambassador and said, "South Korea's position in the field of technology is very strong and cohesive.”
During the meeting, the Korean ambassador also offered to provide necessary training to South City officials to speed up city management activities. The Mayor and the Korean Ambassador also expressed their determination to work together on the basis of mutual cooperation to move the culture of the two countries to a higher level of prosperity.
Farid Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of South City Corporation and Secretary Akramuzzaman were present during this time, along with others.
