Russian House in Dhaka held a meeting and farewell ceremony for government scholarship students for higher education in Russian universities. Pavel Dvoychenkov, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, lauded and congratulated Bangladeshi youth for their choice to pursue higher education in Russia. He offered a heartfelt farewell message, extending his best wishes for their future endeavors.
At the meeting and farewell function of Russian government scholarship students organized on Friday (25 August) afternoon, he reminded everyone that since 1972, more than five thousand Bangladeshi graduates of Soviet/Russian universities have been able to join prestigious professions in the country and abroad by working in government, private, and various international organizations and they have also played a huge role in the development of the country. He also noted that the number of Russian government scholarships for higher education in Russia for the academic year 2023-2024 was 110. It is expected that the number will gradually increase from the academic year 2024-2025.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ilya Vladimirovich Stupachenko, Head of Consular Section, Russian Embassy in Bangladesh; Mr. Alexander Terekhov, Vice Consul, Russian Embassy in Bangladesh; Dr. Taibul Hasan Khan, Soviet Alumni, Former Professor of History Department of Jahangirnagar University (Doctor of History, People's Friendship University of Russia); Mrs. Yasmin Sultana, Teacher, Russian Language Course, Russian House in Dhaka; Dr. Mohammed Amjed Hossain, Deputy Secretary, Socio Economic Infrastructure Division, Planning Commission, Ministry of Planning, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh; and Mr. Bazlul Hasan Syed, In-Charge, Education Section, Russian House, Dhaka.
Dr. Taibul Hasan Khan confirmed from his practical experience that Bangladeshi students have employment opportunities in any country of the world, including Bangladesh, after completing their studies at any university in Russia.
After the meeting, students of the People's Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) joined the video conference. Members of the Bangla Press Club of Russia and the Bangladesh Students Union (PFUR) attended the video conference. They congratulated all the Bangladeshi students going for higher education at Russian universities. They also shared their experience of studying in Russia and the lifestyle of friendly and sincere Russians.
At the end of the meeting, all documents, including visas, were handed over to all the students.
