Rector of Dagestan State Pedagogical University (DSPU) of Russia Prof. Asvarov Nariman called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Thursday at the latter’s office of the university. Counsellor, Embassy of the Russian Federation and Director of the Russian Center for Science & Culture in Dhaka Mr. Maxim Dobrokhotov, DU Registrar Prabir Kumar Sarker, Director of DU Institute of Modern Languages Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Razaul Karim Faquire and Director of DU Public Relations Office Mahmood Alam were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest and exchanged views about strengthening on-going joint collaborative academic and research programs between Dhaka University and Dagestan State Pedagogical University. They also apprised each other of the history and academic activities of their respective university. They held fruitful discussion to setup ‘Russian Corner’ and a ‘Center for Open Education in Russian Language’ at DU Institute of Modern Languages to further strengthen educational and cultural relationships between Bangladesh and Russia. They agreed in principle to sign a MoU between these two universities in this regard soon.
DU VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked DSPU Rector Prof. Asvarov Nariman for his visit to and keen interest in strengthening collaborative academic and research programs with Dhaka University.
