State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, “We have to turn Bangladesh into the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu's dream by awakening the latent talents and cultural consciousness of our young generation and children.”

He said Sheikh Russel’s soul will get peace when with the spirit of liberation war we’ll be able to ensure that no more children are killed, no one are persecuted for their religious identity.

The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at a national seminar titled ‘Sheikh Russell Dipto Joyllash, Odomyo Attobishhash', held on the occasion of ‘Sheikh Russel Day 2021’ at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre Hall of Fame on Monday.

NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary of ICT Division, Prof Dr Nuzhat Chowdhury, daughter of Shaheed Intellectual Dr Alim Chowdhury, Munni Saha, CEO of ATN News and Sadat Rahman, winner of International Children's Award among others, spoke at the seminar.

Eminent journalist Navneeta Chowdhury conducted the programme while, poet, writer, playwright and journalist Anisul Haque presented the

keynote address.

The state minister said the successors of those who did not hesitate to assassinate Sheikh Russell, are now trying to create instability in the country. They wanted to destroy Bangladesh then and they are still trying now. "We have to answer why two generations did not grow up with non-communal consciousness after August 15, 1975. Art literature develops the latent talents of the people and did not happen during that period”, he added.

Calling on the children and teenagers to come forward for the welfare of the country by developing the latent talents and inspiring them with the ideology of liberation war, Palak said, “We will work together to build a safer world for the next generation, including children of Bangladesh.”

He called upon all to highlight the humanitarian aspects of Sheikh Russell to the children and youth of today.
