Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) is going to organise a robotics competition tomorrow. The competition will be inaugurated at 9am in the morning by the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the university Professor Dr Md Rafiqul Islam Sheikh. The competition is being organized by the Department of Mechatronics Engineering of the university.
The competition will be held in 5 segments; Poster Presentation, Project Showcase, Robo Wrestling, Mud Rover and Speed Battle. Poster presentation will be held after the inauguration of the competition. Then the rest of the segments will be held. Already the registration of the competition has been completed. Students from 18 universities of the country will participate in this competition.
The initial aim of this event is to create a platform for robotics enthusiasts to express their ideas, strengthen their working skills in interactive sectors like electrical, electronics, programming, communication, control and so on.
The closing session of the competition will be held at 5pm on the same day. 10 winners will be awarded of various segments. In addition, the winning teams of various events will be given prize money of Tk 2 lakhs 18 thousand.
Sajal Kumar Das, president of Mechatronics Engineering Department, said such competition will make students interested in technical education. As well, the students' practical skills will increase, which students will then be able to use in their workplace.
