Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) proudly announces its remarkable achievement in the Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 APAC Round. A student team from RUET has secured the prestigious third position amongst tough competition from 14 countries across Asia-Pacific.
The winning team comprising Shuvam Agarwala, Rakesh Kar, and Md Mazharul Islam from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering demonstrated exceptional skills in the network track category. Their outstanding performance garnered them recognition at the APAC Award ceremony held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
More than a thousand undergraduate students from 25 universities in Bangladesh participated in the competition, showcasing the nation's burgeoning talent in information and communication technology (ICT). Huawei's initiative provided a platform for students to explore various tracks including network, cloud, computing, and innovation.
Expressing gratitude towards Huawei, Shuvam Agarwala remarked, "This competition broadened
our understanding of ICT and provided an invaluable international exposure.
Representing Bangladesh on a global stage was an honor, and we are determined to excel further in the upcoming global round." Md. Azmain Yakin Srizon, Assistant Professor at RUET, commended the students' dedication and expressed pride in their accomplishment.
He emphasized the competition's role in enhancing students' knowledge and confidence, thanking Huawei for fostering such opportunities for Bangladeshi talent.
The upcoming global round in Shenzhen, China, will witness participation from over 170 teams comprising more than 500 students from around 40 countries. This event marks Bangladesh's second participation in the Huawei ICT Competition, themed "Connection, Glory, and Future," reflecting the nation's commitment to technological advancement and global collaboration.
