The Rajshahi University authority on Monday formed a meeting at the senate building of the university with the Population Science and Human Resource Development department students, who were forming movement demanding to get their department name changed to ‘Applied Statistics’.
After hearing speeches of the department teachers and students university Vice-Chancellor Professor M Abdus Sobhan said, “It’s now impossible to rename the department and if it would change, identity problem will not be solved. The university authority will work on including subject code of the department in Public Service Commission (PSC).”
The meeting took place at the university’s Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Senate Bhaban around 4:00 pm and ended at around 8pm. Teachers and students presented their arguments at the meeting.
