An awareness rally about the ‘Right to Information’ was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday. The rally was brought out in front of the administrative building of the university around 11:00am. After parading the main roads of the campus, the rally ended at the ‘Mrittunjoyee Mujib’ mural on the campus. Later a short discussion programme was held.
IU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Mahbubur Rahman gave a speech at the programme while Treasurer Prof Dr. Alamgir Hossain Bhuiya, Registrar (acting) H M Ali Hasan, transport administrator Prof Dr. Anowar Hossain, Proctor Prof Dr. Jahangir Hossain, Information, Publication and Public Relation director Dr. Amanur Aman were present at that time. Shahadat Hossain Azad, legal implementation convenor of ‘Right to Information’ of the university presided over the discussion program.
Press administrator Prof Dr. Sazzad Hossain, Physical Education Division director Dr. M Sohel, Planning and Development division director(acting) Dr. Nowab Ali, Controller of Examination (in-charge) Abul Kalam Azad and IU BCL unit president Faysal Siddiki Arafat and among others also took part here.
Pro-VC Dr. Mahbubur Rahman said in his speech, “the main concept of Digital Bangladesh is to ensure the free flow of information. There should be a supply of information everywhere from the field to the official court.’
