The highly anticipated film “Rong Dhong,” directed by Ahasan Sarawar, is finally set for release in theaters this November 2024. The film had been stuck at the Censor Board for an extended period but received clearance last year following a ruling by the Appellate Division, almost three years after its production.
Director Ahasan Sarawar expressed his relief and excitement about the release. “It’s not just a few but multiple hurdles that we have overcome to bring this film to the audience. Honestly, it's a bit challenging to convey the mental state of a director until a film is actually released,” Sarawar said. The film has been generating buzz even before its release, thanks in part to its two released songs: “Boyosh 16te Prem” and “Oddhuto Prem Amar.” These songs have been shared widely on social media, creating a significant amount of interest.
The film features an impressive cast, including Tariq Anam Khan, Arman Parvez Murad, Lutfor Rahman George, Sera Zaman, Faruk Ahmed, Shadhin Khasru, Dr. Ejazur Rahman, Shabnam Parveen, Pran Ray, Jamin Hossain, Soma Ferdous, Sadaf, Rakib Hossain Ivan, Makhnoon, Sohel Mondol, Amin Azad, Shamim Hossain, and Ornob Khan. The music for “Rong Dhong” was composed by Foad Naser Babu, Shamim Alam Bullet, Pantha Kanai, Romance, and Tasnuva.
The songs “Boyosh 16te Prem” and “Oddhuto Prem Amar” have already been released on YouTube and are receiving positive feedback from audiences.
While the precise release date in November will be announced soon, fans are eagerly anticipating the film’s debut on the big screen.
Director Ahasan Sarawar told Bangladesh Post, “After overcoming many hurdles, I’m thrilled to finally release 'Rong Dhong.' The journey has been long, but the support and excitement around the film and its songs have been incredible. I can’t wait for audiences to see it.”
