Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain on Tuesday said the role of Alem-Ulama society in the welfare of the country and nation is unforgettable.
“They have been playing a responsible role in any transitional period of the country’ he said these in his speech as chief guest at a rally organised at Jamia Islamia Obaidia Nanupur Madrasa ground in Fatikchhari, Chittogram on Tuesday afternoon.
The religious adviser said that every time in the history of this country, when violence has tried to rise up, Islami scholars have protested and resisted it. Even in the future, if any evil force ever tries to attack Islam in this country, the community of Alem Ulama will resist it. No nefarious conspiracy against Islam will succeed in this country.
The adviser also said, we did not take responsibility with the intention of enjoying power. We are working to pave the way for those who will come to power after being elected by people's vote to run the state properly. For this, reformative activities have been undertaken. Political stability and development of law and order is our priority. After that, the voter list will be updated and the Election Commission will be reconstituted and elections will be held on time.
Dr. Khalid said that the country's situation was critical when the interim government took over. The government has to face multifaceted problems including political instability and economic crisis.
Allama Shah SalahUddin Nanupuri, director general of Jamia Obaidiya Nanupuri Madrasah, presided over the event and senior government officials, senior teachers and students of Madrasas and leaders of various political parties were present in the event.
