Unidentified terrorists shot a top Rohingya community leader to death at Kutupalong refugee camp of Ukhia on Wednesday night.
Talking to the Bangladesh Post, several intelligence officials on condition of anonymity confirmed the murder of Mohammad Muhibullah, the chairman of Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights.
According to the intelligence sources, some masked armed persons suddenly arrived near the house of the deceased around 8:30pm when he was working there after saying his Esha prayers.
They fired several rounds at him leaving him critically injured.
Muhibullah was first rushed to a local medical facility and later to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital where the duty doctor proclaimed him dead.

Muhibullah met US President Donald Trump in 2019. He gave a harrowing account of persecution, plight and eventual flight from Myanmar. At one point, he sought the support of the USA to go back to his homeland.
He fled Rakhine state of Myanmar on Aug 25, 2017, when the Myanmar Army started an offensive. Later, he took refuge at the Kutupalong Camp in Ukhia.
